Trent Alexander Boult is a left-arm fast bowler who is known for his aptitude to swing the ball either way and provide a threat to top-order batsmen. He is perhaps one of the finest new-ball bowlers in the world today.
Boult first demonstrated his abilities when, at the age of 17, he was crowned the quickest high school bowler in the country. He already was representing his country in the Under-19 World Cup the following year. He did not, though, make an easy adjustment to international cricket. It was due to a change in his bowling motion, which required him to revert to the bowling motion he utilised as a child. Trent Boult, made his First-Class start in 2007 when he was selected for New Zealand's 'A' team's visit to India.
Trent Boult caught the attention of IPL franchises after his outstanding performance in the 2015 Cricket World Cup, and he was signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015. As a consequence of the SRH's abundance of gun bowlers such as Dale Steyn, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Karn Sharma, and Praveen Kumar, Boult only got to play seven matches, taking up nine wickets. He didn't have any opportunities in the next season, therefore SRH let him go.
At the age of 19, Boult was named to the New Zealand team for the one-day series versus Australia on January 21, 2009. Boult only got to play in the Prime Minister's XI warm-up game, when he remained wicketless in seven overs. During the trip, Boult was timed as the New Zealand team's quickest bowler, with a maximum speed of 143.3 km/h. In October 2014, he returned to the ODI team for the home series against South Africa, although he did not play in the games against Pakistan in the UAE. The selectors chose him for the 2015 World Cup roster because of his ability to swing the ball both directions at high speeds.
