Vijay Shankar dismissed Rohit for 32 runs off 25 balls in the seventh over. Mumbai lost a couple of wickets at quick succession post-Rohit's dismissal. Mumbai was pushed to backfoot Mujeeb Ur Rahman, who dismissed de Kock and Ishan Kishan.
Kieron Pollard finished the innings for Mumbai and put the pressure back on Hyderabad. He made 35 runs off just 22 deliveries and helped Mumbai reach 150 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.
David Warner and Jonny Bairstow provided the same sort of start to Hyderabad as Mumbai. However, once the next few players couldn't capitalize on this start. Trent Boult and Rahul Chahar made sure Mumbai remained in the game until the end. They both picked three wickets. Ultimately, Mumbai won the match by 13 runs, and Kieron Pollard was adjudged player of the match.
